Thank you so much for writing Annette.

Feel free to write me directly at js@jeremysherman.com too.

Yours is the second comment I received on this article that argues that it is best to leave love outside the clutch of an analytical mind. Below find a e.e. cummings poem that expresses that argument exquisitely.

I honor that many don't want an analysis of love and think that my interest in it is a sign that I'm barking up the wrong tree. I wouldn't want to impose my analysis on anyone, and don't because no one is forced to read what I write.

I should say though that my heart shows all signs of being wide open. I swoon in love. I write love songs, I cry, I am intensely romantic. And I don't find the analysis detracts. I think finding a connection between romantic love, the formation of organism and organization and their emergence from pure physics makes it that much more cosmic. That I might have explained it poorly or that it is more complex a story than people want, I surely think is a possibility, but for me a guy with heart and head both on fire, it doesn't feel like I've lost my way, but rather that I've found it. But it's certainly not everyone's way.

I love that you love my writings. If you will, please say a little more about who you are. Do I know you? How did you come to be on Mind Readers.

I'm wishing you well in all that you love.

It sounds a little like you are trying to quantify love and relationships - not sure that's scientifically possible! Sometimes, it just is what it is and no laws apply. And there is much more to it than give and take, it's the in between stuff - the willingness to not always be accommodated - or, to get your own way most of the time - and still thrive as a couple, that's where the really interesting stuff is.

I think you already know that but your logical mind, being back in the dating pool, is looking for some guarantees this time... remember, the heart wants what the heart wants. Life is a state of flux. And sometimes the rule is, there are no rules.

I love your writings Jeremy, they make me want to think!
